...why the whales' ancestors returned to the sea: It's impossible to find a good position for sleeping at the moment. Which helps a lot with the short-term memory loss, of course.
I'm sure I have more to say; I just can't remember it.

Now while I don't have problems finding good sleeping positions (my sympathies to you), amazingly I am experiencing some ST memory loss even without a pregnancy! Just yesterday my DH remarked how in some ways I'm behaving like a crazy pregnant woman (nesting, big cleaning projects, etc). Now if only I could remember where I put his body ;)
Um, yes. I understand completely.
I've thought a lot lately about how much I'm becoming like an old person. Memory is shot, sleeping less and less, sore and creaky in the morning, walk very slowly, can't eat very much at one sitting, difficult to stand up after sitting for a long time, can't hold my pee.
I would probably be feeling more compassion for the elderly if I wasn't feeling so grumpy and sorry for myself.
also i'm not growing a human, i'm finding it VERY hard to position myself in our extremely comfy bed. i have a vast array of pillows propping up my parts and i still wake up numerous times to readjust. my poor husband!
it would be great to have a flotation device or an adjustable bed so i could easily move my head and feet positions.
or perhaps i should've asked for sleeping meds.....
The short term memory loss is the worst. I hate it when I feel stupid, and that seems to happen more often since I got that positive beta. It seems to be one of the side effects that no one tells you about.
Hope you get some sleep soon.
Kick the husband out of bed and replace him with tons of pillows.
We invested in a memory foam mattress pad thingy that wasn't the cure all I had hoped for, but it did help. That and lots of Tylenol pm every night.
Damn it, another thing infertility has robbed me of: A good excuse for my complete lack of memory!
I wish I had some good advice but all I know is that one of my friends swears by the huge body pillow to sleep with when she is pregnant.
Too bad there is no way to sleep in water...
So I may be taking you too literally, but I don't suppose you can sleep...in the bathtub? On a waterbed? What about...a hammock?
I have memory issues but no excuse.
So I can't remember if I should call you Ishmael or Moby.
