...but alas, Runty does not. He did double in size, but no heartbeat that we could find today, even with some masterful wanding.
Bruiser is an embryonic bad ass, with a nice rapid heartbeat and a big ol' body. Not surprising, as my husband weighed around 10 pounds at birth, and I was in the 9-pound range.
I'm not sure what I feel at the moment, except tired. Some relief, some sorrow. I didn't want twins, but now I'm sad to lose a little dude. A whole mixed bag of emotions.

I'm so very sorry, shinejil.
Your relief that one of your little ones is OK must, of course, be tempered with sorrow at the loss of the other.
Thinking of you as you try to make sense of all of this.

Shinejil, I too lost my little runt (at 7w5d) but my Little A fetus continues to thrive. I know the feeling of not really wanting twins, but then pulling for each of them with all you've got. I'm sorry you lost one. It's a strange dichotomy to feel the loss of one, but,at the same time, joy for the continued survival of the other.
Hey lady, I'm sorry that Runtie didn't make it. But ooooh so happy that Bruiser is looking determined. Get some rest.
xo
I'm so sorry about your loss. One of the crazy things about IF is how our expectations keep changing. Even if you were not looking for twins at the beginning, once you know it's an option it's amazing how fast your daydreams can change. I hope you give yourself plenty of time to adjust (and mourn if you want) the change.
It's so hard to know how you feel when you got more than you expected but then had it taken away. But, I am so happy that Bruiser is still kicking!
Well, I'm not exactly sure what to say. I just wanted to send some virtual hugs and let you know I'm thinking about you. I'm so glad "bruiser" is doing well. I can imagine that there are a lot of feelings to sort through. I'm so sorry.
Complicated, to say the least. *HUGS to you*
Visiting from L&F. I'm sorry for your loss.
In case the spotting continues, I thought it might help you to know that I had spotting from weeks 6-12 - always brown and sporadic. And here I am, still pg and approaching 34 weeks.
Even when you know its harmless, spotting sucks. I hope yours goes away for good!
Oh, sweetie. That is a real mixed bag. My feelings for you are mixed up, too, but I'm clear on the love and light I'm sending to you, Bruiser, and your hubby.
Go Bruiser!
Poor Runty :(
Definitely a mixed bag of emotions. Hang in there.
Keep on keeping on little bruiser!
::hugs:: I'm sorry to hear about Runty but happy that Bruiser is doing well.
Thinking of you. Would be understandable to have mixed emotions. Sending Bruiser lots of strong growing healthy vibes.
Awww, I'm sorry about Runty. I'm sure s/he will always hold a special place in your heart. But I am glad that Bruiser continues to do well! Hang in there...
Oh I'm so very, very sorry to hear about this. I can't even begin to imagine the mix of feelings you're experiencing. Please take care and get some rest.
Eve
I'm sorry you lost one of your sweetpeas. I originally had 2 sacs when I found out I was preggo after my FET #1...but only one grew/matured with a h/b. It was hard to lose the one - bittersweet really, because we had our strong little Julian growing beautifully and born healthy. Good luck.
oh i'm so sorry lady. i'm sure it's quite a mix of emotions. i'm so happy to hear that bruiser is going strong!
Aww... I'm sorry for little Runty. But I'm so happy that little Bruiser is doing so well. :)
Did you graduate or are they holding on to you?
yay bruiser! sounds like you've got a big embie in there!
i'm sorry for little runty. i can appreciate not wanting to have twins, but it's a loss just the same.
hugs to you!
Awww. I'm sorry. Also congrats because I'm so happy for your little badass...but what a difficult bag of emotions that must be. Sending you a hug...because that's just all that seems right.
I'm so sorry to hear that. You guys will be in my prayers.
So sorry about the loss of the little one.
Very glad that bruiser is doing so well.
Hug to you.
What a bittersweet scan. I am glad Bruiser is still doing great. I am sorry for the loss of Runty. It is a mixed bag of emotions.
Bittersweet indeed. I'm sorry you lost Runty and thrilled Bruiser is living up the name.
And the emotional roller coaster continues, huh? Big hugs to you, DH, and Bruiser!
Oh Shinejil ... so sorry to hear about Runty. I can understand how things can feel like a big bag of mixed emotions. You're mos def allowed to feel such things.
I am, however, happy to hear that Bruiser is doing well. And I do like your nickname ... reminds me of Sha Na Na ...
I'm so sorry for your loss. Regardless of what you wanted, you still had quite a loss. ~hugs~ and well wishes to bruiser.
So sorry sweet Runty... It doesn't seem right to have had two lives fail in that lush, warm, loving womb of yours. But Bruiser will carry on and make Runty proud.
I'm so sorry for this other loss.
Hope you are feeling better and can banish that brown discharge eventually (I glad you have such a nice sounding nurse looking out for you!)
Bitter sweet. But still sweet. I'm happy for you sweetie.
oh no! hugs hugs hugs. so sorry. thinking of you.
I'm really sorry about Runty. And so delighted that Bruiser is living up to his/her name.
