Surprise!

My period surprised me. This is unheard of, or at least for the past four or five years. No spotting, no PMS, no cramps, nothing. It just showed up after our 14 mile bike ride and 2 mile run on Saturday.

My "as if" act worked, and I had zero thoughts that this might be the magic month. So the excellent start made me happy, as if I had accomplished something. It made me feel healthy. And possibly--just possibly--able at some point to get knocked up. Something's gone right in there, and I hope it can keep in balance.

Um, congratulations? Actually, I'm still stuck on (and impressed by) the 14-mile-bile-ride thing. Makes me feel like a slacker for dreading my 30-minute treadmill workout this morning.

That is really wonderful! I'm so glad you're feeling in balance, and that you are actually experiencing results from your "as if" thinking. (Aristotle is feeling pretty vindicated right now, I suspect...)

Yeah. I remember the first time I had a period in 2 years, I was so excited. . . .

A couple of my girlfriends and I went out to lunch!

That does seem like a good sign, that your body is ready to go at least! I hope this is a clean slate and a good month for you.

It is so difficult sometimes to look at getting your period as progress - in fact, those first few years of puberty when I had it I actually calculated how many years I had until menopause, that was how much I hated it - but I think you've done a wonderful job of doing just that.

I felt the same way the other day when Big Red started. For the first time in a long time, I'll have a nice regular, period. What a thought.

And you did accomplish something. Shifting your thinking is sometimes harder than anything else. Good for you!

This does seem like wonderful news! Now if we can just make it go away for hmm, let's see, nine months or so, things would be peachy.

Holy crap--14 mile bike ride. Whew, I had to take a moment to envision what that would be like; and trust me it's all envisioning, cause Id pass out after 5 miles! Go you!
Balanced feelings in our body and mind can lead to pretty amazing things--glad you are feeling happy from the balance=)

That happened to me last month. Bike ride follwed by period. It sucked. The acting "as if" thing is VERY VERY hard, but it's what worked for us in the end. :) here's hoping!

I feel exhausted at the mere thought of a 14 mile bike ride followed by a 2 mile run!

So glad to hear you sounding - and feeling - so positive, strong and healthy.
